the young leader's usually bright eyes snapped open. there it was again. the same dream, over and over. the same cat, over and over. ever since geckostar had lost his first life, he'd not been able to rid the demons from his head. he didn't know what it was or why it was happening.. but it was something. something the young leader was determined to figure out.
these dreams - nightmares, really had been haunting geckostar for moons. it was a corrupt version of the origina dream, which he had seen when he lost his first life. everything was different than the original, the images skewed and corrupt. a nightmare. one that geckostar couldn't seem to escape. since the beaver fight, geckostar's image had changed. his eyes were now dim and gloomy, and his usually kept tabby pelt was looking rather wild. he looked like a much darker geckostar, and his personality was slowly beginning to follow. to put it simply, the beaver fight had changed the young leader.
the groggy tom padded out of his den and into the clearing. dark eyes gazed upon each and every cat that padded past him. what was wrong with him? he didn't want to be this way. it didn't have to be like this. why were these nightmares taking such a toll on him? bending over, the tom picked up a small fish in his jaws. he padded toward his usual spot in the clearing and dropped the fish. he wasn't hungry. he couldn't even take a bite without feeling stick to his stomach. he moved the fish away and pushed his head into his paws, trying to forget the world. what was happening to him?

Bluepaw lay sleeping in her nest the tip of her tail twitching showing that she was having a dream of course as always it wasn't really a good dream. She hadn't been able to get that rogue that had killed her siblings out of her head since it had happened. The she-cat opened her eyes to reveal eyes that were a bright blue and quickly got to her paws the tip of her tail twitching. 'Stupid dreams,' the medicine cat apprentice thought her usual emotionless mask slamming into place as she thought of heading out into the clearing to get something from the fresh kill pile. She hadn't really shown her emotions since her siblings had died. While her father was still alive she came to think of emotions as a weakness and thought that she could end up getting hurt if she let herself get close to anyone ever again. She was still kind of close to her father but she couldn't be close with him without thinking that he would end up dying on her as well leaving her alone.
The blue-gray she-cat let out a sigh and headed out into the clearing her eyes fixed straight ahead as she headed to the fresh kill pile without even looking to see if there was anyone else in the clearing. The she-cat made it to the fresh kill pile and chose a pike from the pile and turned planning on heading back to the medicine den when she caught sight of her leader. On the inside she groaned but on the outside she showed nothing her face gave away none of her thoughts as she headed over to her leader. Most would think that a medicine cat should show emotions but she didn't really care what others thought. She didn't like when cats tried to change her after all she had feelings and others thinking they could change her irritated. Of course a lot of times her clan mates didn't know she was irritated since she really didn't show her emotions. She was just always to worried that if she let herself feel something she would get hurt again. In a way she was just protecting her heart, though most would tell her that pain was the way of life. She did know that but that didn't mean she actually wanted to feel the pain of a broken heart because someone close to her had died.
The medicine cat reached her leaders side and for a minute she didn't say anything, she had never really been good on the whole talking thing. "Good morning Geckostar," she meowed still standing up but she wasn't really in the mood to sit down right at the moment. She had already let her pike fall to the ground so that she could have an easier time speaking. She had never been good at small talk but she had heard that an easy way to make small talk was to ask the other cat how they were doing. "How are you doing?" she finally asked her voice as emotionless as her facial expression. She eyed her leader with emotionless eyes as she waited for him to tell her something either greet her or tell her how he was doing. 'What have I gotten myself into, I'm not even good at having small talk,' she thought and realized that she was still standing. 'I guess I should sit down, I guess my mentor will be lookng for me soon, but I should try speaking with my clan mates more,' she thought finally sitting down and let her gaze drift over tot he medicine den before letting her attention drift back to her leader.
