The leader didn't remember much.
The last thing Geckostar could recall was something hard slapping down on his already fragile body. But shortly before that, there was Shadowclanners. He remembered that well, but the young leader could not recall whether they were helping him or not. He could feel every inch of pain, but not hear, smell or see a thing. His eyes began to darken and soon, he was fast asleep. Or was he dead? It was much too soon to die.. There was still so much to do.. so much for left in Geckostar. He couldn't have given up that easily..
Then, there was a voice. A familiar voice, yet it was one that Geckostar had not heard in many, many moons. The Riverclan leader did not know where he was, but from what he could see there were many cats surrounding him. Cats with stars in their pelts... So he was dead. This was it, then. From the group of cats, one came forward. One that looked like a wicked mix of Redstorm and Geckostar. The pelt of Geckostar, but the eyes of Redstorm. It was obvious who this was. Blackhawk, their father. "Geckoclaw, my son" came the eerie, ghostly voice.
In this place, Geckostar could not speak. He was frozen in time. It was like one of those dreams that you could not escape but could not doing anything about, either. It was just.. happening... all at once. Blackhawk began to speak again, and Geckostar could not help but feel oddly at home. Like he was back in the nursery as a kit again. Well, that was the last time he had heard his fathers voice. "You've lost your first life, and will lose many more." came the voice once more. "But how you use those lives, is all the difference" Blackhawk did not stop to say much more. He was quick and to the point. Besides, Geckostar already knew he was making his family proud. And suddenly, it was all fading. Noises were returning to his ears and the scent of beaver was back again. Through it all, Geckostar couldn't get the voice out of his head. It had said one last thing. "Tell Redstorm that I am proud of him"
The tabby had never felt so drained in his life before. He still could not find a way to move. He knew he wasn't dead, but in the back of his mind he couldn't help but feel like he actually was. His entire body ached, but most importantly - his side. The beaver had completely crushed him, and could have very well shattered a bone. Geckostar hoped it was just a bruise. He couldn't abandon his clan like this. He felt like a complete wimp. More than anything he wanted to get up and assist his warriors. He especially would have loved to speak with the Shadowclanner.. but it was no use... until, the voice of his father returned. "Get up.. You have a Clan to lead"
Once his eyes reopened, there was only one thing on his mind. Shadowberry. First, was she alive? And second, what in Starclan had happened to him just then? Despite the pain, Geckostar stumbled to his feet. His eyes were still a bit dazed, and he found himself seeing two of everything. What was he to do now?

I shouted out I loved you but you’re not here, you're not here
| His leg felt like it was being ripped off, but he had to do this for RiverClan. Maybe if the beavers saw they didn't have a home, maybe they would leave RiverClan's. It was starting to become a struggle though. "Oh StarClan. Lend me strength." He panted. It was then he heard a splash and looked over and only saw one beaver. He bounded to the top of the dam, looking for the other but it was nowhere in sight. Uh oh.. The scent of blood also assaulted him and he turned his head the other way. With the scent of blood came ShadowClan. What was going on!? Was every clan under attack by something?
He took a step toward the scent, fighting with himself. He needed to help his clan, but it was also very difficult for him to refuse any cat in pain. While he was distracted, he felt sharp teeth meet his leg, jerking him downward. He shrieked in pain and surprise as it attempted to pull him from the dam. The tom panicked, his claws gripping whatever he could get them on, but it was no use. The animal was too strong. He yowled as it bit harder, giving another great jerk and suddenly he was beneath the water. |

[/b] The she-cat raced quickly after her. The beavers had rather tough and slick hides. She could taste some blood in mouth and there was blood on her claws. She had broken the beavers skin, but there was quite a bit of fat on it and it's fur was slick. She had trouble holding on to the point where it made it easy for the female to shake her and Redstorm off. Sudden, Wolfeye knew why the beaver had made for the dam. She had spotted Heronflight on it. Quickly, Wolfeye dove into the water, but realized how well the beavers moved under the water. She surfaced to see Redstorm manage to save Heronflight. The poor cat had been pulled off the dam and it had seemed like the female was attempting drown him. It was close to breaking. Wolfeye could see leaks in the side of the dam as the water pressure built up. She began to claw her way up the side of the dam to help finish what Heronflight had started. She didn't quite catch what Redstorm had yelled, but the scent of ShadowClan suddenly hit her as she scrambled up the dam. Geckostar was lying unconscious and a ShadowClan tom was locked in combat with the male beaver. Her heart sank when she first saw Geckostar lying there, even though he got up a short time later. She was well aware of what had happened, but it didn't make it any better. She turned back toward the dam and began to push as hard as she could. She could hear the creaking as the water pushed up against it. She knew what could happen should she stay here... she could be crushed under the logs and sticks, but it would only be a small sacrifice for RiverClan. Not that that made it any less frightening. Finally, some sticks under her began to give way and Wolfeye caught the sight of the female making her way back toward Redstorm and Heronflight. "Hey, over here you overgrown fat rat!" She yowled and the beaver turned toward her. The creaking began louder and the female took off toward her dam in a last ditch effort to save it. Wolfeye wasn't having any of that. "Heronflight! Redstorm! Get out of the water, quick!" She cried out as loud as her voice would allow her as she swiped a paw at the approaching beaver.[/font][/ul]

BEAVER The male hissed at Galestorm as he clamped his jaws around the beaver's throat. The beaver thrashed around, frantically trying to free himself from the tom's grip, but it was no use. His throat was tearing out. With a final ounce of strength, he flung the cat against a nearby tree. He was free now, but his throat was bleeding heavily and he could barely breathe. The large beaver collapsed onto the ground, dying and gasping for breath, watching as GECKOSTAR and @clovershine waited nearby. The female could smell blood. Even with redstorm and Wolfeye attacking her, she turned to see her mate lying dead on the ground. She let out a loud wail, shook off the cats, and limped quickly over to her dam. She could see her only child grappling with heronflight beneath the water. She dove in and pulled her child off of the cat, biting furiously at Heronflight's leg in the process. Still bleeding, she dragged her baby out of the water and collapsed, exhausted. Her baby chittered at her sadly, but one look at the many cats surrounding it sent it running for the hills. CONGRATULATIONS! YOU'VE SCARED OFF THE BEAVERS! NOW THE DAM IS YOURS TO DISMEMBER!HEALTH AT 0/114 THE BEAVERS RUN AWAY!

The leader was now one life shorter. He never expected this moment to occur just like this.. but it did. And honestly, he was not ready for it. Not one bit. Yet still, Geckostar remained strong. He had to.. for his clan. Was this all his fault? Could he have caused all this? No. There's no way. He had no control over this. He was just doing what was best for the clan.
Geckostar glanced around as Wolfeye and the others fought off the beavers and got out of the river. Wow. Things were truly crazy. Geckostar could hardly believe the horror that had just unfolded in front of his pale eyes. Geckostar could simply watch as Redstorm struggled to the river bank with Heronflight close beside him. Wolfeye who had successfully brought down the dam. Then, there was Galestorm. A hero, in Geckostar's eyes. He didn't have to do this.. but he did. For the good of the clans. Geckostar was happy. Hopefully, he could rekindle the once strong relationship with Shadowclan. This seemed like the perfect time. "Galestorm!" yowled the brave leader, a weak smile strewn across his face. It was hard to seem happy when all of this happened, but he had to. It was all for Riverclan. As he approached the tom, he gave a dip of the head in respects. "You did a great thing today. Riverclan is in your debt. Tell Eaglestar I would like to speak with him soon. Now, this tension must end" the tom purred proudly. "Shadowberry may try to mend your wounds if you wish, but that is all. Thank you" and with that, the leader was done.
He was tired of this. It was time to move on. Geckostar flicked his tail and gave one more nod to Galestorm before sprinting to the river bank to check on his injured warriors. Shadowberry was definitely needed right now. The tom frantically rushed to Redstorms side and and put a rough lick on him. "Redstorm? Are you alright?" he then ran to Wolfeye, and proceeded to do the same with Heronflight. "Shadowberry! Hurry!" was all that he could say. He was speechless. He was no medicine cat. | | 376 / waiting for shadowberry |
