Sitting at the edge of camp, the blue tinted grey cat watched those around him go about their own business. Something about the whole thing seemed strange, and Seapaw didn't really feel comfortable going out and talking to a few of the cats that were relaxing. Greenleaf was nice, and prey was a lot easier to get, making it a lot easier to relax then it had looked like when he was a little younger. But that was not an issue, seeing that he still happened to be the same way, but didn't mind it. Seapaw watched for a while, wondering what it would be like if something were to be different, but that was one thing he didn't think would ever happen. At this point, he was still young, and he knew he still had a lot to learn.
Sitting there for quite a while, Seapaw couldn't help but think that it would be a good thing to go do something, possibly finding a warrior to go out and do some things out in the forest. He still needed to learn, and the thought of doing that was a little bit of something that he wasn't so sure about it at all. But that was pushed to the back of his mind, wandering a little towards the entrance of the camp, hoping to find something good out of the whole thing. Maybe if he just put his mind to it, it might change, but Seapaw didn't know what to think about with it happening like this.

In a cruel and evil world, being cynical can allow you to get some entertainment out of it.

[presto] 383 WORDS @path NOTES my baby's getting old Dx [/presto] Badgerstar had never enjoyed inactivity. She had never handled boredom very well, and she wanted to be up and at 'em right this very minute. Brokenface had given her advice to try to get more rest as she moved into her later moons the other day, but it all just seemed so boring. The big black and white she-cat's gaze fell on the elder's den. How they could stand to just sit all day and do nothing, she would never know. The scariest part about the elders, however, was that they really weren't that much older than her. She was an apprentice when they were middle-aged warriors.
Badgerstar knew she'd never want to retire, but how long would it be before she started losing lives to old age? The thought sent a shiver through the she-cat's body as she lay on top of the ledge overlooking the clan. She was trying to get more rest, just as practice almost, but it was terrible. She'd rather lose all her lives to a fox than spend the rest of her days as a deadweight to the clan.
Speaking of deadweights, Badgerstar spied a young apprentice hanging out by himself in the clan center, not really doing much. Where was his mentor? Shouldn't he be doing something productive, maybe learning? A glimmer of amusement flashed through her eyes. This was her chance to break Brokenface's orders. Oh, there were more important things to do than sit around waiting for her own death. With a groan, Badgerstar stood up and slowly padded down from the highledge. She'd learned her lesson about jumping down last time after an embarrassing incident.
The large black and white she-cat strode over to the gray tom, raising her tail regally with her long (and matted) fur flowing down from it. "Seapaw!" The she-cat meowed powerfully as she neared him, demanding the young tom's attention. "How would you like to join me on an unofficial hunting trip?" She probably should have taken more interest in the lack of his mentor's presence, but if someone was going to teach the apprentice something, it might as well have been her. I mean, she never really had the patience for hunting and apprentices, but that was only because her previous apprentice had been a total airhead.

It didn't take long before Seapaw soon heard his name being called, in which he looked in the direction who it was from. To his surprise though, it happened to be the leader, Badgerstar. It was a bit of a surprise, and he just nodded to the comment she made about going out for an unofficial hunt. It was something better to do, and at least he'd be going with someone who would be experienced. Whatever the cause, Seapaw would agree to it, getting into a position in which he was ready to follow. At least one thing was for sure, it would help him a bit, what with not knowing for sure where his own mentor was. But that wasn't an issue. He didn't think his mentor would mind, seeing that hunting with one of the other clan members would be just as good as that of being with who he was training with.
"Yes, that is fine, Badgerstar. I'm willing to try it out."
Getting up and ready, Seapaw figure it was going to be a good time, if not a little strange for him. The only question was, if he was going to be learning, what will it be that he was going to learn about hunting. There was a lot to go off of, and he knew that it was going to be quite the trip to get prey for the clan. But who knows what will happen with the leader helping him out too, only because he knew she seemed like she was starting to get a bit older then necessary. At least from what he could tell. He just wished that something good would come out of it as he was with Badgerstar.
