IN CHARACTER TIMELINE
When creating a character, keep in mind that the following timeline was constructed around the number of moons since Littlestar died, which was two moons prior to Arcane's opening. Arcane opened in May 2014.
PRE-OPENING — Littlestar murders Ospreystar, goes on a killing spree in the WindClan camp, and is killed.
JUNE 2014 — Geckostar and his clanmates fight off the beavers. Jaystar is murdered by an unusually vicious fox. The medicine cat's prophesied that StarClan is losing it's grip on the clans, and they find out that Littlestar has not completely left the forest.
THE PLOT
For clan tensions, please see this thread.
For a long time before, the Clans prospered in peace in the lake territory. The prey was bountiful, and Mother Nature had been kind to the clans. Clan tensions had never been lower. It was perfect. It was the calm before the storm.
Littlestar was unique; she always had been. As a kit, she had been alienated. She was cruel and cunning, but she had fair reason to be. Her mother Daisycloud, a warrior of WindClan, had chosen to drown Littlekit in the stream coming from the Moonpool after deciding that the runt didn't fit her image of perfection. Luckily for the she-kit, a ThunderClan patrol heard her panicky mews and saved her moments before her imminent death. Her mother escaped with her life and managed to escape punishment for her deed until Littekit became Littleflame.
Having suppressed her inner self-destruction that she had been harboring since she joined ThunderClan for all those moons, she decided to speak out, and when she did, her mother was severely punished for it. However, that wasn't enough for Littleflame. She wanted revenge. Her abrasive personality did not make her a favorite among her clan, but for some reason, the deputy, Rowanstrike, saw something in her. Upon the leader's death, the new Rowanstar deemed it fitting to name the young warrior his deputy, but even the clan's complete disapproval couldn't have made him realize the depth of his mistake.
Littleflame continued with her life, her self-destructive tendencies and blooming psychosis brewing and boiling in her mind. After quite some time, Rowanstar joined the ranks of StarClan, and the now Littlestar could now begin her work. However, upon arriving at the Moonpool, StarClan denied her her nine lives for a reason undisclosed to her. Faced with rejection on the highest scale once again, her psychosis began to bloom, but she told no one her lack of lives and threatened the Medicine Cat to keep quiet.
To be quite frank, the leaders of the other clans were a little frightened by Littlestar, as they could see that there was something not quite right with her. Even with her tiny stature and delicate frame, you could see the madness boiling over in her burning amber eyes. Every cat in ThunderClan with few exceptions had opposed to her becoming leader, but they had to respect the deceased Rowanstar's choice. It didn't take long for them to gain respect for her authority, as she was extremely severe with punishments, even going so far as to bite off a portion of an apprentice's ear for taking his share of the food before the kits were fed.
Oh, the kits, the kits. The queens were always hesitant when Littlestar came to visit the nursery. She sat on the outside watching in, watching the kits play and interact with one another. They soon learned to fear her visits as well. She would consistently make a point to point out the flaws in the kits as they played. "Oh, he's looking a little on the chubbier side lately, isn't he? That one doesn't seem to be the brightest. You better look out for her or her brain will go to mouse-dung!" Despite the light laughter that typically followed as to brush off her comments, in her mind, Littlestar was being hypercritical. To her, kits were the beginning, moldable changeable. She shared her mother's pursuit of perfection. Her mother didn't see perfection in Littlestar, but she would show Daisycloud. She would make the world perfect, and then her mother would see the perfection within.
The first Gathering with Littlestar was unnerving to say the least. Littlestar only chose the most talented and good-looking warriors in the clan to attend. The other leaders were walking on eggshells around her, as they could see her madness was boiling particularly close to boiling over that night. Only happy news was shared that night. RiverClan had two new apprentices, ShadowClan had named a new warrior last night, WindClan had a new litter of kits... Having been spacing out for almost the entirety of the Gathering, her mind buzzed. "Kits?" She spoke. "Do tell me more. I love kits." Ospreystar, the leader of WindClan at the time, happily obliged, more than eager to get on the erratic leader's good side. Oh, they're quite wonderful, Daisycloud's so happy with them, she calls them her perfect little darlings. Two syllables and a click of the tongue, and she snapped. Perfect. The voices came to her, speaking of the old Ospreystar's imperfections. Oh, the clans would do just fine without him. Littlestar lunged for the old tom, who sat there, paralyzed with utter horror, as the tiny she-cat ripped out his throat, taking the old tom's last life. She had lost the very scraps of her sanity, the little bits and pieces that were holding her together, and now it was gone.
The Gathering was plunged into utter chaos. WindClanners accused ThunderClanners of planning their leader's murder, launching the clans into a bloodbath. RiverClan retreated to the safety of their nearby camp, while ShadowClan accused them of cowardice. Some of the RiverClanners caused them to turn back and fight for their pride. Meanwhile, Littlestar and three other cats headed for the unprotected WindClan camp. Upon reaching the camp, the psychotic she-cat flew into a murderous rage while her comrades fought off the remainders of the clan and did the unthinkable: murdered all of WindClan's kits. What she did with them, I will not delve into for the sake of your poor, innocent mind does not deserve such disturbing details. When she had finished, she cornered Daisycloud, blood dripping down her maw. The old queen cowered in the cornered of the nursery, and Littlestar struck her hard and with deadly intentions. Daisycloud fought back hard, and the two mortally wounded each other. As they lay there dying on the nursery floor, Littlestar began weeping uncontrollably. With her final breath, she wailed at the top of her voice, "Why, StarClan? Am I not perfect enough for you either?" Her dying cries rang through the camp, and the ThunderClan and WindClan warriors ceased fighting. They knew it was over. Her words would haunt them like a figure in a fevered nightmare calling out to them in the darkness of arcane night.
